Pakistan Backs Iran Against Unjustified Israeli Aggression: PM Shehbaz
“Israel’s adventurism poses a serious threat to regional and global peace and stability,” the prime minister warned.
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned on Saturday Israel’s unjustified aggression against Iran, reaffirming that Pakistan stands firmly with the Iranian government and people.
According to details, PM Shehbaz held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to express Pakistan’s solidarity with Iran in the wake of recent Israeli attacks.
“These attacks constitute a violation of Iranian sovereignty and territorial integrity,” stated the premier, adding that they also contravene the United Nations Charter and international law.
He emphasised that under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Iran has the right to self-defence in response to acts of aggression.
PM Shehbaz has extended heartfelt condolences to President Pezeshkian over the loss of precious lives caused by the Israeli strikes.
He also reiterated Pakistan’s support for Iran in the United Nations Security Council, calling for global attention to Israel’s provocative actions.
