Rocket Attack Targets MNA Mubarak Zeb’s Home in Bajaur — Second Incident in a Month

Soon after the attack, police and other law enforcement personnel reached the site and cordoned off the area.

ISLAMABAD: A rocket attack targeted the residence of Prime Minister’s Special Assistant and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Mubarak Zeb Khan in the early hours of Saturday, marking the second such incident within a month.

According to security sources, the rocket was fired late at night and partially damaged the entrance of Mr Khan’s residence, located in Bajaur district. District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafique confirmed the incident, adding that it occurred at approximately 1am.

Soon after the attack, police and other law enforcement personnel reached the site and cordoned off the area. An investigation has been launched to ascertain the nature and motive of the assault. Forensic teams are collecting evidence, while multiple angles are being examined, police officials added.

“This is not the first time Mr Khan’s house has been targeted,” an official said. “A similar incident took place on May 14 when an explosion destroyed the main gate of the same house. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in that incident either.”

The repeated targeting of the MNA’s residence has raised concerns over the security situation in the area. Following the attack, security in and around the locality has been tightened. Intelligence and law enforcement agencies have also intensified efforts to trace the perpetrators.
