GUJRAT: The University of Gujrat (UOG) recently hosted the opening ceremony of the “National Outreach Program for Higher Education Faculty,” launched by the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) under the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The one-month training program, which began on November 16, aims to enhance the teaching and research skills of faculty members across Pakistan.
The program, featuring nine comprehensive modules, is designed to address the evolving needs of higher education and equip educators with the tools required to meet modern challenges. The modules focus on improving teaching methodologies, research capabilities, and faculty development.
UOG’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mushahid Anwar, expressed his appreciation for the initiative, thanking HEC for awarding the grant that enabled the program. He emphasized that the training would serve as a transformative experience for faculty members, ultimately enhancing teaching standards in Pakistan’s higher education sector.
Prof. Dr. Audil Rashid, the program’s focal person and training coordinator at UOG, spoke about the importance of the program, highlighting how the modules are tailored to address the dynamic needs of the education sector. He also underlined UOG’s commitment to fostering collaboration and excellence in faculty development.
Ms. Noor Amna Malik, the Managing Director of NAHE, was recognized for her visionary leadership in driving the initiative. Her strategic planning and dedication to enhancing the quality of education have been central to the success of the program. Under her leadership, NAHE continues to focus on empowering faculty members and improving the overall educational experience in Pakistan.

Faculty participants expressed enthusiasm for the program, recognizing its potential to elevate their teaching practices and research output. One participant remarked, “This program offers a rare opportunity to align our practices with international standards and improve overall student outcomes.”
The program is set to conclude in mid-December, marking another milestone in NAHE’s ongoing efforts to promote professional development in higher education.
