New Armed Robbery Gang Surfaces in Islamabad

A new gang of armed robbers using SMG guns has emerged in Islamabad, raising concerns over the city’s public safety.

In a bold daylight robbery in the Bari Imam area, four armed suspects on two motorcycles opened fire while robbing a mobile shop. The gang made off with Rs630,000 in cash and continued shooting as they fled the scene. The entire incident was captured on video, highlighting the use of advanced weaponry.

A case has been registered at the Secretariat police station, and the Deputy Inspector General of Police Operations Islamabad has formed teams to hunt down the culprits.

This robbery marks the latest in a series of violent crimes, with Islamabad witnessing a significant rise in lawlessness. It follows two other bank robberies within the last two days. On the second day, an attempted robbery at a bank in Sector G-9/4 left four people injured, including two security guards, who were rushed to the hospital, two in critical condition. Another robbery attempt in G-15 resulted in four injuries due to gunfire. Additionally, a bank van was targeted in the I-9 area, injuring one guard. While brave bystanders were able to stop the robbers, several people were severely wounded in the confrontations.
