Nova Scotia-(Special Correspondent/Webdesk): A 19-year-old female Walmart employee was found dead in the store’s walk-in oven in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Saturday night. Authorities were notified around 9:30 PM.
The Halifax Regional Police, working alongside Occupational Health and Safety and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service, are investigating the circumstances of her death, with no clear indication yet of any criminal involvement.
The young woman had immigrated to Canada from India with her mother two to three years ago. The Maritime Sikh Society has offered condolences and emphasized the need for transparency in the investigation.
Following the incident, Walmart has tempor22rily closed the store and is providing counseling services for its employees.
