Faiz Hameed Set to Testify Against Imran Khan in Military Court

Military Custody Enforced as Court Martial for Ex-ISI Chief Faiz Hameed Begins

Imran Khan remarked, “The arrest of Faiz Hameed is being orchestrated to shift my case to the military court.”

The PTI founder made these remarks following a press release from the Pakistan Army’s media relations department, which announced that former ISI chief Faiz Hameed had been taken into military custody for violations of the Army Act. It was later revealed that three additional retired army officials had also been detained for similar violations.

On Monday, Imran Khan asserted that all the charges against him are baseless. “I don’t know of any other commander, but I do know that Faiz Hameed was a capable general,” Khan remarked.

He added that these actions are actually increasing public support for PTI.

Regarding rumors about his wife allegedly having connections with the former ISI chief, Imran Khan criticized the claims, saying: “It is disgraceful to suggest that Bushra Bibi obtained information from Faiz Hameed.”

Earlier, three more retired army officers were detained as the court martial proceedings against former ISI chief Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed proceed.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) indicated that these detentions are part of a wider probe into actions considered to breach military discipline.

The ISPR reported that the retired officers are being investigated for their alleged involvement in activities that violated military conduct and contributed to political instability. “The investigation into these officers and their associates is ongoing,” the statement said.

The ISPR further explained that the officers were detained for breaching military discipline and are suspected of plotting to promote political interests, which might threaten the country’s stability.
