PM Shehbaz Sharif Approves Massive Cut in Fuel Prices
To help reduce the burden on the citizens, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a significant reduction in the prices of petroleum products. The new rates for petroleum products were communicated through a notification by the Ministry of Finance.
The following are some of the new charges:
- Diesel: reduced by Rs 10.86 per litre,
- Petrol: reduced by Rs 6.17 per litre,
- Kerosene: decreased by Rs 6.32 per litre,
- Light-speed diesel: went down by Rs 5.72 per litre.
- The price of petrol has been decreased by Rs 6.17 per liter, bringing it down to Rs 269.77. Similarly, diesel prices have been slashed by Rs 10.86 per liter, with the new price set at Rs 272.77.
This price decrease is expected to ease consumer financial burdens and serve as an economic stimulus package. In its attempt to mitigate inflation rates and raise standards of living for Pakistanis, this move from the government comes at a time when prices have been stable or declining lately.
