Court Orders Submission of Case File in Fake Bank Accounts Case Against Faryal Talpur

The hearing was adjourned until August 15, with the court instructing the investigating officer to ensure the case file is submitted for the upcoming session.

KARACHI: The Special Banking Court in Karachi has directed the investigating officer to promptly present the case file related to the fake bank accounts scandal involving Pakistan Peoples Party leader Faryal Talpur and others.

During the court session, Faryal Talpur appeared before the Special Banking Court as proceedings unfolded. The investigating officer informed the court that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had not yet provided the case file, prompting discussion on notifying the NAB Chairman.

In response, the defense lawyer argued against the necessity of notifying the NAB Chairman, emphasizing that the responsibility lies with the investigating officer to obtain the required documents. The court granted an exemption for accused Anwar Majeed from appearing and noted assertions regarding President Asif Ali Zardari’s immunity.
