PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Secures Closer Accommodation for Pakistan Cricket Team in New York

The Pakistan cricket team is set to depart for New York immediately after their match against the USA on Thursday.

New York: Following a stern notice from PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the hotel accommodation for the Pakistan cricket team in New York has been changed to a more convenient location.

The Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to play two matches in New York on June 9 and June 11. Initially, the team was assigned a hotel located 90 minutes away from the stadium. Sources reveal that Chairman Mohsin Naqvi took swift action upon learning about this inconvenience and insisted on relocating the team to a hotel just a 5-minute drive from the stadium.

In contrast, the Indian cricket team was already accommodated at a hotel merely 10 minutes away from the ground, while other teams faced accommodations over an hour’s distance. South Africa and Sri Lanka had previously expressed concerns regarding the facilities provided during their stay in New York.

Chairman Naqvi contacted ICC officials to express his dissatisfaction with the arrangements and successfully convinced the event organizers to move the Pakistan team to a closer location. He made it clear to the ICC that he would not allow his team to endure long travel times for any matches, including the T20 World Cup fixtures on June 9 and 11 in New York.

Naqvi emphasized to the ICC that if the accommodation issue was not resolved, he would personally arrange and fund better and more convenient lodging for the team. He asserted that the well-being and comfort of the national cricket team are his top priorities.
