Azerbaijan’s FM Meets Army Chief Gen Asim Munir to Discuss Regional Stability

The high-level meeting focused on deepening bilateral relations and fostering regional peace and stability.

Rawalpindi, 31 May 2024 — In a significant diplomatic engagement, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi today.

The high-level meeting focused on deepening bilateral relations and fostering regional peace and stability. Both leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions on various matters of mutual interest.

General Munir underscored the strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to supporting Azerbaijan in defense and security domains. He highlighted the historic and brotherly relationship between the two countries and expressed Pakistan’s readiness to extend all possible assistance to Azerbaijan.

Commending the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, General Munir praised their exemplary professionalism and valor, acknowledging their significant contributions to regional security.

Foreign Minister Bayramov expressed heartfelt gratitude for Pakistan’s steadfast support to Azerbaijan. He recognized Pakistan’s critical role in promoting stability in the region and appreciated the ongoing cooperation between the two nations.
