Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari holds orderly room where complaints against police officers, investigations into cases and assessments of their performance were examined, a public relations officer said.

Islamabad: DIG Operations Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari holds orderly room. According to details, following the special directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the DIG Operations Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari holds orderly room where complaints against police officers, investigations into cases and assessments of their performance were examined, a public relations officer said.

He said that the DIG Operations issued show-cause notices for negligence, disciplinary violations, incomplete investigations, negligence in duty, and involvement in corruption against three inspectors, 10 sub-inspectors, seven ASIs, two head constables and five constables.

Whereas, four police officers namely ASI Abid Hussain, Head Constable Abid Majeed, Constable Muhammad Shoaib, and Constable Areeb Ali were dismissed from service.

While the demotion orders of six police officers including Inspector Tahir Khan, Inspector Shams Ul Akbar, Sub Inspector Muhammad Farooq, Sub Inspector Zahid Hussain, ASI Iftikhar Ahmed, and Head Constable Riaz Jalalwere issued.

However, annual increments of 13 officers were halted while the service of four police officers was also confiscated.

DIG Operations said that negligence and dereliction of duties will not be tolerated in any way within the department.The protection of citizen’s lives and property is our foremost responsibility and any negligence or irresponsibility in this regard will not be tolerated, he added.

Meanwhile, public service delivery should be the top priority and those who demonstrate efficiency will be part of our team.

He emphasized immediate action on any complaint and zero tolerance for any shortcomings in safeguarding citizens lives and property.

The process of reward and punishment will continue to improve the performance of the department.

Officers who demonstrate outstanding performance will be rewarded and praised while those found negligent will face disciplinary actions, he maintained.

11 drug peddlers arrested; huge cache of drugs recovered

According to details, in light of the special directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Police has launched a special “Nashaa Ab Nahi” tehreek to eradicate narcotics and keep the youngsters safe from the curse of drugs, public relations officers said.

He said that, during the last 24 hours, the Islamabad Police apprehended 11 drug peddlers from different areas of the city and recovered a huge cache of drugs from their possession.

Following these directions, the Secretariat Police team arrested an accused namely Siraj Khan and recovered 525 gram heroin from his possession. The Kohsar Police team arrested an accused namely Kashif Manzoor and recovered 262 gram heroin from his possession. The Karachi Company Police team arrested an accused namely Mati Ur Rehman and recovered 22 gram Ice from his possession.

Likewise, the Sangjani police team arrested an accused namely Tanveer Ahmed and recovered 556 gram heroin and 20 gram of ice from his possession. The Kirpa police team arrested two accused namely Aman Sajjad and Danish Abbas and recovered 351 gram hashish from their possession.

Similarly, the Khanna police team arrested three accused namely Shehryar, Danish Abbas and Muhammad Nawaz and recovered 615 gram heroin, 344 gram ice from their possession. The Noon police team arrested an accused namely Karam Ullah and recovered 314 gram hashish from his possession. The Shams Colony police team arrested an accused namely Akbar Hussain and recovered 530 gram hashish from his possession.

Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.

DIG Operations Islamabad Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari, directed the police officials to further intensify the crackdown against the criminal elements.“Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard”, he maintained.
