Maryam Nawaz emphasized that during Ramadan, the people of Punjab will not have to stand in queues at railway stations.
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that during Ramadan, the public will not have to stand in queues for essential commodities; instead, efforts will be made to deliver these items to their doorsteps. The Ramadan Relief Package is expected to benefit around 33 million people in Punjab.
Addressing a news conference in Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that there is limited time left in Ramadan, and significant steps have been taken under the Ramadan Relief Package. The fulfillment of promises made in her first address has begun, and complete guidance has been provided.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that during Ramadan, the people of Punjab will not have to stand in queues at railway stations. Instead, efforts will be made to deliver essential commodities to their doorsteps. All departments of Punjab have supported the task until completion, and a comprehensive program has been prepared in a short period.
The Punjab Chief Minister stated that approximately 960,000 rations have been distributed under the Ramadan Relief Package. The package includes 10 kilograms of flour, 2 kilograms of sugar, 2 kilograms of ghee, 2 kilograms of rice, and 2 kilograms of chickpeas, all of which are of excellent quality. Non-standard items have been withdrawn from the package.
She further stated that for the first time, any government has not provided home delivery services. A complete delivery system has been arranged.
Maryam Nawaz mentioned that during the previous Ramadan, Shahbaz Sharif had provided free flour to the people. It is a matter of joy that in the next three to four months, over 120 million people will be surveyed, all of whom earn less than 60,000, and their data will be collected. Once the data is collected in one system, it will be easier for future governments to utilize it.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision has led to the decision to implement traffic reforms and effective measures. The Lahore City Traffic Police has been instructed to take strict action against violations, illegal parking stands, and color-coded parking.
A spokesperson for Lahore City Traffic Police stated that Amaar Tower has ordered the adoption of a zero-tolerance policy for traffic violations. All supervisory officers will be present on the roads during peak and busy hours. Traffic congestion complaints will not be tolerated.
