5G Internet Service Installation Begins at Islamabad International Airport

The project marks a milestone in Pakistan's aviation sector

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – Pakistan has taken a significant step towards enhancing digital connectivity with the launch of the country’s first comprehensive indoor 5G network at an airport.

The installation of the indoor 5G solution officially commenced at Islamabad International Airport during a kick-off ceremony held under the supervision of the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).

According to the PAA, the project aims to improve the overall passenger experience by providing seamless, high-speed internet connectivity throughout the airport terminal.

The initiative is being developed with a Chinese investment of $5 million and is expected to generate approximately Rs600,000 in monthly revenue for the Pakistan Airports Authority upon completion.

Once operational, passengers will benefit from faster, more reliable internet services, enabling smooth digital communication, online access, and enhanced travel convenience while at the airport.

The project marks a milestone in Pakistan’s aviation sector as the first airport in the country to introduce a comprehensive indoor 5G facility, reflecting ongoing efforts to modernize airport infrastructure and digital services.
