No Casualties Reported After 5.8 Magnitude Quake in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – On Monday evening, a powerful earthquake shook several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as well as Islamabad and Rawalpindi, prompting residents to evacuate buildings in fear.

According to preliminary seismic data, the tremor registered 5.8 on the Richter scale, reported 24NewsHD. Monitoring agencies noted that the quake originated at a shallow depth of 10 kilometres beneath the surface, which can amplify the intensity of ground shaking.

The tremors lasted several seconds in the federal capital, the garrison city, and adjoining areas of KP. While there were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage, emergency and rescue authorities placed teams on alert as aftershocks could not be ruled out.

Residents described the shaking as strong enough to rattle windows and move light objects, prompting widespread concern across the affected regions.
