2 terrorists killed in North Waziristan

Security forces eliminated two militants during a trade of fire in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

Islamabad: 2 terrorists killed in North Waziristan. The military’s media wing in a press release stated that a fire exchange took place between terrorists and security forces last night.

It added that “Own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location as a result of which two terrorists were sent to hell. Weapons and explosives were also recovered from them.”

Weapons and explosives were also recovered from them, said the ISPR.

The statement also read that a sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.

10 terrorists killed in KP 

The preceding day saw security forces conducting two operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the elimination of 10 terrorists. Simultaneously, in an intelligence-driven mission in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, two terrorists were neutralised.

Following the cessation of its ceasefire with the government in November 2022, the banned militant group Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan has reignited terrorist activities, particularly in KP and Balochistan.

A recent security report from the Centre for Research and Security Studies reveals that during the first quarter of 2024, Pakistan experienced 432 fatalities and 370 injuries across civilians, security personnel, and perpetrators, stemming from 245 instances of terrorist attacks and counter-terrorist operations.
