12 Indian-Backed Terrorists Killed; 2 Soldiers Martyred in Operations

Sanitization operations are ongoing in all affected areas to eliminate any remaining threats.

Rawalpindi – In a series of successful intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from May 17–18, Pakistan’s security forces eliminated 12 Indian-sponsored terrorists, dealing a significant blow to networks attempting to destabilize peace and security in the country.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations targeted terrorists linked to Indian proxies, namely the so-called Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) in Balochistan and the group identified as Fitna Al Khwarij in KP.

In Balochistan, security forces launched an IBO in the Gishkur area of Awaran District, where three terrorists were engaged. After a fierce exchange of fire, one terrorist identified as Younas was killed, and two others were injured. In a separate engagement in Turbat City, Kech District, two more Indian-backed militants — including the ring leader Sabr Ullah and his accomplice Amjad alias Bichoo — were neutralized. A cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the scene. These individuals were reportedly involved in attacks on law enforcement personnel and the target killing of civilians.

In parallel operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, nine terrorists from Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in three separate engagements. Five were eliminated in Lakki Marwat District, while two were neutralized in Bannu District during precision strikes by the security forces. In a third incident, terrorists ambushed a military convoy in Mir Ali, North Waziristan District. Security forces responded with force, killing two attackers. However, during the intense exchange, two soldiers — Sepoy Farhad Ali Turi (29, from Kurram) and Lance Naik Sabir Afridi (32, from Kohat) — embraced martyrdom after fighting bravely.

The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces, in close coordination with the nation, remain resolute in their mission to root out terrorism and thwart any attempts by Indian proxies to sabotage the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the country at large.

The sacrifices of Pakistan’s soldiers, it stated, only strengthen the nation’s resolve to defeat terrorism in all its forms.
