Zimbabwe Defeats Pakistan in First ODI by 80 Runs
BULAWAYO: Zimbabwe secured an impressive victory over Pakistan in the first One-Day International (ODI) by 80 runs, under the DLS method, after persistent rain interrupted the match.
Zimbabwe set a target of 206 runs for Pakistan, but the match was cut short due to continuous rainfall. When play was halted, Pakistan had managed to score only 60 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
Pakistani batters struggled throughout their chase. Abdullah Shafique was dismissed for 11, while Saim Ayub made 17 runs. Kamran Ghulam contributed 17, Salman Ali Agha scored just 4, and Irfan Khan managed 7 runs before being dismissed.
The match, which was heavily affected by rain, could not be completed, and Zimbabwe was declared the winner based on the DLS method.
