Zardari Accuses Neighbours of Aiding Terrorism Against Pakistan
President Zardari Says Neighbouring States Financing Terror Groups Targeting Pakistan
Islamabad: (Web Desk) – President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday said that certain neighbouring countries have become complicit in terrorism by providing financial, technical and operational support to militant groups targeting Pakistan. He made the remarks while thanking world leaders and governments for expressing solidarity with Pakistan following the deadly suicide attack in Islamabad that claimed at least 33 lives and injured dozens more.
The President emphasized that terrorism cannot be defeated by any single country acting alone, stressing the need for collective global action. He said Pakistan’s long experience with terrorism has shown that when militant groups are allowed space, protection or impunity beyond borders, innocent civilians across the world ultimately suffer.

President Zardari strongly criticized the Afghan Taliban regime for allowing terrorist groups to operate from Afghan soil and launch attacks against Pakistani civilians and security forces, saying the current situation in Afghanistan is even more dangerous than the pre-9/11 period. He also accused Pakistan’s eastern neighbour of supporting the Taliban regime and contributing to threats against regional and global peace.
Expressing gratitude, President Zardari said Pakistan was deeply moved by the overwhelming messages of sympathy and support from international leaders, governments and organizations. He noted that these messages brought comfort to the nation and reaffirmed that the fight against terrorism is a shared global responsibility.
