ISLAMABAD: YouTube has paid a record-breaking $8 billion to the global music industry between July 2024 and July 2025, marking a major milestone for the platform.
According to YouTube, this payout comes from both advertising and subscription revenues, reflecting the success of the company’s dual-revenue model.
Lyor Cohen, YouTube’s Global Head of Music, said this achievement highlights the strength of the platform’s dual-engine system of ads and subscriptions. He added that the numbers prove YouTube’s continued growth as a long-term platform for artists, songwriters, and publishers around the world.

YouTube revealed that it now has over 125 million Music and Premium subscribers, while more than 2 billion users watch music videos on the platform every month. Available in over 100 countries and supporting 80 languages, YouTube continues to be one of the most influential platforms for global music.
