Young doctors close Kohat KDA hospital after Mehwish killing
Kohat doctors protest Dr. Mehwish’s killing by closing KDA Hospital, demanding justice and highlighting female doctors’ safety concerns.
Kohat – (Web Desk) – In Kohat, young doctors have decided to close the Kohat Development Authority (KDA) Hospital to protest the tragic killing of Lady Dr. Mehwish.
She was shot dead by unidentified armed men while returning home from work on Double Road, dying instantly at the scene.
Dr. Obaid, President of the Young Doctors Association, stated that the protest will continue until the killers are brought to justice.
The medical community held a demonstration, demanding the swift arrest of the perpetrators and highlighting serious concerns over the safety of healthcare professionals, especially female doctors.
“Even a female doctor could not remain safe,” the Young Doctors said, questioning the security situation in the area.
Following the announcement of the hospital’s closure, patients faced severe difficulties as medical services at KDA Hospital were suspended.
Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects at KDA Police Station on the complaint of the victim’s husband.

Authorities said investigations are under way, but the attackers have yet to be identified or arrested.
