Young Activist Ayaz Jokhio Found Dead at Shrine in Badin

Badin-The body of Ayaz Jokhio, a young political and social activist, was found at the Shaheed Fazil Rahu shrine in Rahuki, Badin, early Friday morning. Authorities are investigating the incident as an alleged suicide. In response, Jokhio’s family staged a protest and sit-in at DC Chowk in Badin, placing his body there.

The demonstration drew participation from women and children, demanding justice and accountability. Protesters are calling for the registration of an FIR against those named by Ayaz before his death.

According to sources, prior to the incident, a recorded video statement by Ayaz Jokhio was posted on his Facebook account and has since gone viral. In the video, he leveled serious allegations against former provincial minister Ismail Rahu, holding him responsible for the hardships he and his family faced.

Tragically, the incident mirrors a similar case from a few months ago when Ayaz’s father, Comrade Ali Ahmed Jokhio, also reportedly died by suicide at the same shrine. In his final message, Ayaz accused the same political figure of being responsible for both his and his father’s deaths.

The family has demanded that those named in Ayaz Jokhio’s statement be booked under criminal charges. The protest continues at DC Chowk as mourners and activists call for immediate action and a transparent investigation into the case.
