Xi, Putin, Kim, Shehbaz Showcase Unity at China’s Military Display
Xi Jinping Leads Beijing Parade Showcasing China’s Military Strength and Strategic Alliances
Global – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) -North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stood alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping at a spectacular military parade in Beijing on Wednesday. The event marked 80 years since the end of World War II and became a powerful display of China’s military strength and political influence.
Xi Jinping opened the ceremony with a warning that the world faces a choice between peace and war, declaring that China is “unstoppable.” The highlight of the parade was the DF-5C intercontinental ballistic missile, which can strike targets up to 20,000 kilometers away. Other advanced weapons, including underwater drones and supersonic missiles, were also displayed, showcasing China’s cutting-edge defense technology.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not invited to the parade, according to Radio Pakistan. In contrast, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s presence alongside Xi, Putin, and Kim highlighted Pakistan’s growing role in regional diplomacy. The United States reacted strongly, with former President Donald Trump posting on Truth Social, accusing the leaders of conspiring against America and sarcastically sending greetings to Putin and Kim.
The 90-minute parade featured thousands of soldiers marching in precise formation, accompanied by tanks, missiles, and heavy military vehicles rolling down Beijing’s historic Chang’an Avenue. A spectacular air show followed, with fighter jets and helicopters flying in formation, including one that formed the number “80” to commemorate the anniversary.

This grand display concluded a busy week for Xi Jinping, who hosted the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit earlier. The SCO, a 10-nation group, promotes regional collaboration as an alternative to Western alliances. During the summit, Xi criticized what he called “bullying behavior” from some countries, a clear reference to the United States. Vladimir Putin defended Russia’s military actions in Ukraine, blaming the West for the ongoing conflict. Many leaders from the summit, including Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, attended the parade.
Kim Jong Un’s presence was particularly notable, as this was only his second trip abroad in six years. He was accompanied by his daughter Kim Ju Ae and sister Kim Yo Jong. Following the parade, Kim met Putin, who expressed gratitude for North Korea’s support in sending troops to aid Russia in the Ukraine conflict. Experts believe this meeting emphasized China’s strong influence and ability to unite key allies, with analysts noting that Kim’s participation signals powerful backing from both China and Russia.
