World’s Most Beautiful Ship ‘Amerigo Vespucci’ Docks in Karachi
Karachi: The world’s most beautiful Italian ship, the ‘Amerigo Vespucci,’ has docked at Karachi Port for the first time on Saturday, marking a significant moment for the city of lights.
The 93-year-old vessel is part of a two-year voyage from 2023 to 2025, traveling across 30 countries, symbolizing a key milestone in strengthening bilateral ties between Italy and Pakistan.
Regarded as a masterpiece of Italian naval architecture, the ‘Amerigo Vespucci’ has captivated many for its timeless design. During its stay in Karachi, the ship will be accompanied by ‘Villaggio Italia,’ a mini-expo showcasing modern Italian art, fashion, and technology.
The Italian Ambassador, Consul General, and officers from the Pakistan Navy were present to welcome the ship at Karachi Port. The sailors aboard the vessel referred to it as an “Italian floating embassy,” emphasizing its role in enhancing relations globally.
As part of its visit, the crew of the ‘Amerigo Vespucci’ will meet with senior officials from the Pakistan Navy and tour various locations in Karachi.
The ship embarked on its world tour on July 1, 2023, under the “World Tour – Villaggio Italia” initiative by the Italian government. The vessel’s journey includes stops at various ports across five continents, covering 30 ports in 20 countries.

Earlier, on October 15, the Italian Navy’s Carrier Strike Group, comprising an aircraft carrier and a frigate, visited Karachi for a three-day visit to promote regional maritime security and defense cooperation between Italy and Pakistan. This visit marked the first-ever arrival of an Italian aircraft carrier to Pakistan.
