World Bank President Ajay Banga Visits Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib

Islamabad: (Web Desk) – World Bank President Ajay Pal Singh Banga visited Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal, one of the holiest sites of the Sikh faith. The visit reflected Pakistan’s commitment to religious tolerance, preservation of cultural heritage, and positive diplomatic engagement with international institutions.

During the visit, the World Bank president offered prayers at the gurdwara and later shared a meal at the langar hall. He expressed admiration for the gurdwara’s beauty and spiritual atmosphere, appreciating the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) for preserving the sacred site in its original form with great care.

Federal Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Provincial Minister and Pradhan of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, accompanied him on the visit.

Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly received by ETPB Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq and the Administrator Rawalpindi. Security and administrative arrangements were described as exemplary.

Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora said the visit would convey a positive image of Pakistan to the world, adding that followers of all religions enjoy complete religious freedom in the country and that protecting minority worship places remains a top government priority.
