Work is Being Done on Punjab’s first cyber advertising policy
Director General Public Relations (DGPR) Punjab Rubina Afzal has said that plans are being made to use artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor electronic media channels, while work is being done on Punjab’s first cyber advertising policy.
Lahore: Work is Being Done on Punjab’s first cyber advertising policy. She said this while visiting Directorate of Electronic Media and Publication (DEMP), and Cyber Wing of PID in Islamabad.
DG DEMP Imrana Wazir and DG Cyber Wing PID Waqar Siddiqui were also present on this occasion. PID officers gave a detailed briefing to DGPR about electronic media and social media monitoring.
DGPR Punjab Rubina Afzal conducted a detailed inspection of DAMP Central Monitoring Unit, Data Storage Center and Electronic Media Dashboard in PID.
Speaking on the occasion, DGPR Punjab Rubina Afzal said that the monitoring of electronic media is being harmonized with the requirements of the modern age and plans are being made to use artificial intelligence for this purpose. She said that with the help of AI, electronic channels will also be monitored by face and voice recognition. She said that the monitoring of electronic media is very important to ensure access to correct information and prevent the transmission of disinformation and in this regard, DGPR Punjab and PID will use mutual experiences for electronic media monitoring.

DGPR Punjab Rubina Afzal further said that the promotion of public awareness material on digital media in Punjab is the need of the hour and the first cyber advertising policy of Punjab is being worked on and in this regard, DGPR Punjab and PID will also cooperate. She said that a working group is being formed for uniform cyber advertising policy in Punjab and the Federation. She said that X, Facebook and Tik Tok will be used to promote content of public interest.
