DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a record-breaking prize pool for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, marking a historic leap in the growth of the women’s game.
The tournament will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2.
The champions of the 2025 edition will earn $4.48 million (₹39.55 crore), more than triple the $1.32 million awarded in 2022. The overall prize purse has jumped nearly 297%, from $3.5 million (₹31 crore) to $13.88 million (₹122.5 crore).
Significantly, the prize money now surpasses the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 ($10 million), a move hailed as a defining milestone for women’s cricket.

“This four-fold increase in prize money reflects our commitment to the long-term growth of women’s cricket. Our message is simple: women cricketers must know they will be treated on par with men if they choose this sport professionally,” Shah said.
