Military won’t tolerate further attempt of violating installations’ security.Asim Munir
Peshawar_Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir Saturday said the Armed Forces will not tolerate any further attempt of violating the sanctity and security of its installations or vandalism.
According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, COAS General Syed Asim Munir visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar.
COAS was given a detailed briefing on the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism efforts. He appreciated the professional competence, performance and achievements of Law Enforcement Agencies in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
COAS also addressed the officers of the Corps and emphasised the evolving threats to national security.
He said, “We shall continue with our endeavours of peace and stability and there will be no room for spoilers of the process”.
The Armed Forces will not tolerate any further attempt of violating the sanctity and security of its installations or vandalism and resolved to bring to justice all the planners, abettors, instigators and executors of vandalism on the Black Day of 9th May, he said.
COAS also sensitised about the challenges of information warfare and efforts to create misperceptions.
He highlighted that a concerted effort is being made maliciously by inimical elements to target the Armed Forces.
He pledged that such nefarious attempts will be foiled through the support of the people of Pakistan.
Earlier on arrival, COAS was received by Corps Commander Peshawar.
Funeral prayers of Muslim Bagh martyrs held at Quetta Garrison,
Funeral prayers of Naik Aminullah, age 31 years resident of District Kalat, Lance Naik Abdul Manaf, age 35 years resident of District Chakwal and Steno Typist Ghulam Fareed, age 34 years resident of District Sahiwal, who embraced Shahadat while fighting gallantly against terrorists in FC Camp Muslim Bagh, were offered Saturday at Quetta Garrison.
According to a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Corps Commander Quetta including serving & retired officers/ soldiers and civil government officials attended the funeral prayers.
The funeral prayers of other martyrs will be offered at their respective hometowns with full military honours.
The armed Forces of Pakistan stand resolute against the nefarious designs of the enemies of Pakistan, who are hell-bent to spoil hard-earned peace.
These sacrifices will not go in vain and further strengthen our resolve to continue the fight against terrorism till its conclusion.
