Formation of Federal Cabinet Underway: Dr. Musadiq Malik Considered for Finance Ministry

Islamabad: The process of forming the federal cabinet is currently underway, with discussions ongoing regarding key ministerial positions. There is a possibility that Dr. Musadiq Malik could be appointed as the Finance Minister.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif convened a meeting yesterday to assess the overall state of the country’s economy. Notably, the former Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar, was not present at the meeting. Instead, former Petroleum Minister Senator Musadiq Malik was invited for consultation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had previously held a meeting with Dr. Musadiq Malik, indicating a strong possibility of him being appointed as the Finance Minister.

In addition to Dr. Musadiq Malik, Ahad Cheema was also invited to the meeting. Ahad Cheema has been appointed as the Prime Minister’s Advisor and will be working from the Prime Minister’s Office.

There are possibilities of other appointments as well, including Attaullah Tarar as Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Khawaja Asif as Minister of Defence, Ishaq Dar as Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ahsan Iqbal as Minister of Interior and Development.

Furthermore, Rana Tanveer, Shazia Fatima, Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema, and Chaudhry Salik Hussain are also likely to be included in the cabinet. Additionally, Jehangir Khan may be appointed as the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant.

Moreover, two ministers from the MQM and one from the PPP may also join the cabinet in the first phase, while the PPP’s inclusion in the cabinet may occur in the second phase.

The formation of the new federal cabinet is seen as a significant step towards the effective governance and development of the country.
