WASHINGTON: (Web Desk) – The White House has issued a strong warning to Iran, stating that further military action could follow if Tehran refuses to concede. During a press briefing, spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said U.S. President Donald Trump is prepared to intensify attacks if Iran does not acknowledge defeat.
She highlighted the scale of recent military operations, noting that around 9,000 targets were struck under Operation Epic Fury. According to her, approximately 90 percent of Iran’s missiles and drones were intercepted, and over 140 naval vessels were destroyed—describing it as an unprecedented blow to a country’s navy since World War II.

Leavitt stressed that Washington is ready to escalate further if necessary, warning Iran against miscalculations. She claimed that previous Iranian leadership and military losses resulted from incorrect assumptions, adding that continued resistance could lead to even harsher consequences.
Addressing diplomatic developments, she commented on reports about JD Vance possibly engaging with Iranian officials during a visit to Pakistan. She clarified that no such meetings should be considered confirmed unless officially announced, though she acknowledged that Vance has been involved in discussions related to Iran.
Despite the strong rhetoric, Leavitt emphasized that diplomacy remains the preferred approach for the Trump administration. However, she warned that military options are still fully available and that Iran could face attacks “20 times” more severe if tensions escalate further.
She also revealed that President Trump is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on May 14–15, while details of a reciprocal visit to Washington are expected to be announced later.
