Wheelchair Tennis Development Initiative Flourishes at KPT Sports Complex

Karachi, June 30th – The Sindh Tennis Association successfully conducted a two-and-a-half-hour Wheelchair Tennis Development Coaching Camp at the KPT Sports Complex on Saturday, June 29th. The camp saw enthusiastic participation from 21 wheelchair tennis players from Baldia Town and Lyari Town.
The event was graced by notable figures including Maj. Mahmood of KPT, Syed Sakhawat Ali, Head of Wheelchair Tennis for Sindh, and Muhammad Khalid Rehmani, Vice President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation.
Esteemed senior tennis player, M. Essa Jee, shared his valuable experience and provided coaching to the participants.
Syed Sakhawat Ali, in his motivational speech, emphasized the golden opportunity provided by the Pakistan Tennis Federation and the Sindh Tennis Association.

He encouraged the players to work diligently to secure a place in the national wheelchair tennis team through open trials and to represent Pakistan on international platforms.
Muhammad Khalid Rehmani reiterated the federation’s commitment to supporting the players. “We offer conveyance and free coaching to ensure there is no financial burden on the players when they participate in camps anywhere in the country,” he said.
Rehmani highlighted the ongoing camps in Peshawar, Mirpurkhas, and Karachi, with plans to extend to Lahore and Hyderabad soon.

He announced that national trials will be held in December to select a team of three players to represent Pakistan in the ITF Asia Oceania Championship in 2025.
