WhatsApp Testing New Feature to Show Group Chat History for New Members
WhatsApp Introduces Feature to Show Group History to New Users
Islamabad: WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging platform used daily by billions of people, is testing a long-awaited new feature aimed at improving the group chat experience.
According to a report, WhatsApp has begun testing this new feature in the beta version of its iOS app. The feature is expected to be particularly useful for WhatsApp group chats.
With this update, following group conversations will become easier, especially for new members. The feature will allow new users to view recent group history, enabling them to see messages posted up to 14 days before they joined the group.
As a result, group administrators will no longer need to manually forward past messages to new members. Under this feature, up to 100 previous messages can be shared.

The shared messages will appear in a different color, making it easier for new members to identify that they are older messages. Additionally, when chat history is shared with new members, other group participants will be notified, including information about who shared the older messages.
The feature is currently under testing and is expected to be rolled out to more users in the future.
