WhatsApp may introduce paid ‘WhatsApp Plus’ subscription soon

WhatsApp planning optional ‘WhatsApp Plus’ subscription with extra features

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – WhatsApp is reportedly preparing to introduce an optional subscription plan that could provide users with access to additional premium features.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, the new plan will be called “WhatsApp Plus.”

Under the proposed subscription, users who pay a monthly fee will gain access to several advanced tools and customization options that will not be available in the free version of the messaging platform.

The report said these features are currently under development for both Android and iOS versions of the app and have not yet been released to the public.

However, WhatsApp’s core services — including messaging, voice and video calls, media sharing, and privacy features — will remain free for all users.

Among the expected premium features is expanded chat pinning, allowing subscribers to pin up to 20 chats, compared to the current limit of three in the standard version.

The subscription may also include greater personalization options, such as 14 different app icons, 19 colour themes, and additional interface customization tools.

While the report suggests that these features will be rolled out gradually, Meta Platforms has not yet officially confirmed the pricing or launch date for the WhatsApp Plus subscription.

The planned subscription appears to focus mainly on personalization and productivity tools, while keeping essential communication features available to all users for free.
