ISLAMABAD: Indian cricketers Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, and Harbhajan Singh have reportedly opted out of the high-profile World Championship of Legends (WCL) match against the Pakistan Champions, citing concerns over the ongoing conflict involving Pakistan.

According to Indian media reports, the match is scheduled for today, July 20, at 8:30 PM PST. The unexpected decision by the trio has cast uncertainty over the India Champions squad, with sources suggesting other team members are now in a state of indecision.

Efforts are ongoing to convince the three veteran players to reconsider and participate in the fixture. However, no final decision has been communicated publicly.

Meanwhile, sources within the Pakistan Champions team confirmed that former captain and all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been dealing with an injury, though the extent remains unclear.

The Pakistan team management stated that they have not received any formal complaint or written notification from the Indian side regarding Afridi or the trio’s refusal to play.
