Watford sack Ismael after 10 months in charge

Watford FC Appoints Tom Cleverley as Interim Head Coach Amid Struggling Performance.

In a bid to revitalize their performance on the field, Watford FC has announced the appointment of former Manchester United and England midfielder, Tom Cleverley, as their interim head coach. The decision follows the departure of Valerien Ismael after a 2-1 defeat to Coventry City, marking Watford’s sixth loss in their last eight Championship games.

Cleverley, 34, brings a wealth of experience both as a player and as a coach. Having retired from professional playing last year, he has been actively involved in coaching Watford’s academy team. Now, he steps into a new role at Vicarage Road with the aim of steering the club towards improved results.

Watford’s board expressed their confidence in Cleverley’s ability to lead the team through this transitional phase. “The club’s board considers it an appropriate time to make a change in order to improve results,” stated Watford in a recent press release.

With promotion aspirations dwindling, Watford finds themselves in 13th place in the Championship standings, having secured only one victory in their last 10 games. However, with Cleverley at the helm, there is optimism that the team can regain their momentum and strive towards climbing the league table.
