Maryam Nawaz upbeat about PML-N’s victory on Feb 8
LAHORE /Narowal(Tahir Chuhdary/Webdesk)– The people of Pakistan would decide about their future on Feb 8, said PML-N president on Wednesday, adding that their voting trend was going to show their priorities, with the country facing challenges on political, economic, social and foreign fronts.
In an exclusive conversation with digital media representatives in Lahore, the former premier Shehbaz Sharif underlined the significance of February 8 election stating that they hold crucial implications for the country’s economic and social landscape.
Amidst the myriad challenges faced by Pakistan, the election, according to Sharif, has entered its final phase with the people set to determine the victor.
Reflecting on the nation’s potential, Sharif acknowledged that certain goals set for Pakistan remained unfulfilled. He urged the country to learn from its history, citing the need to move forward collectively, leaving personal interests behind.
PM Shehbaz addressed the prevailing issues in Pakistan’s past, emphasizing the importance of addressing lingering questions.
Pakistan’s current internal and external challenges were not overlooked by Shahbaz Sharif, who stressed the principle that hardworking nations reap their rewards.
PML-N top gun also drew comparisons with the 90s when Pakistan outperformed India in various fields, calling for an examination into the factors that led the nation to its current state.
“We have to learn from the past; nothing will be done by crying,” Sharif asserted, acknowledging the obstacles in the path forward. He urged the nation to prioritize collective development over personal interests, stating, “We have to forget our personal interests and think for the development of the country.”
Reflecting on the political developments of 2018, Shahbaz Sharif highlighted the removal of the PML-N government and the subsequent challenges faced.
Despite facing setbacks, he recalled the achievements during Nawaz Sharif’s era, including the eradication of loadshedding, reduction in unemployment, and the establishment of Danish schools nationwide for the betterment of the younger generation.
Addressing his relationship with the establishment, Sharif candidly stated, “I was not the apple of the eyes of the establishment.”

He pointed out his incarceration in the NAB penitentiary and questioned the lack of preferential treatment if he were indeed favored.
As Pakistan gears up for the upcoming elections, Shahbaz Sharif’s reflections on the nation’s past, challenges, and the PML-N’s contributions have added a new dimension to the political discourse, setting the stage for a dynamic and closely watched electoral contest.

Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz expressed optimism on Wednesday that her party will win the upcoming elections, slated to happen on February 8.
Addressing the public gathering in Narowal, Maryam said, ‘’Those who had orchestrated conspiracies against Nawaz Sharif have reached their home. Today, Nawaz Sharif is standing like the lion.’’
At the outset of the speech, Maryam said, ‘’I am quite delighted to have reached Narowal. I want to praise you [masses] for standing with the PML-N,
Speaking about former planning minister Ahsan Iqbal, Maryam said, “Where are those who have inflicted pain on Ahsan Iqbal? Ahsan Iqbal had to bear the brunt of serving.’’
‘’It is up to you to decide whether you want a petrol bomb or employment,’’ Maryam said.She took a jibe at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTi), saying, “The fitna was imposed to harm the country.’’
Earlier, Maryam Nawaz said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif can solve the myriad problems.
Addressing the public gathering in Burewala, Maryam said, ‘’There is a responsibility to slash the prices of roti, sugar, flour, vegetables, and meat. It is part of our manifesto to upgrade hospitals, providing free medicines.’’
At the outset of her speech, Maryam said, ‘’You know that I have arrived in Burewala for the first time. I would like to express my gratitude for the way you people have welcomed me. Vote for the PML-N so that the party can serve you all.’’
