US Tops List of World’s Most Powerful Countries in 2025
Bangladesh has entered the list for the first time at 47th position, while Jordan ranks 50th.
Washington: US News & World Report has released its 2025 ranking of the world’s 50 most powerful countries, with the United States once again securing the top position.
According to the report, the US retains its number one spot due to its political influence, strong economy, advanced military capabilities, and leadership role in global alliances.
China ranks second, followed by Russia in third place. The United Kingdom holds the fourth position, while Germany is fifth. Among Asian countries, South Korea ranks sixth, Japan eighth, Saudi Arabia ninth, India twelfth, and Turkey seventeenth.
Other notable countries include Australia in 18th place, Qatar 19th, and the United Arab Emirates 11th, reflecting their growing economic and defense influence in the Middle East.

A powerful country is described as one that leads globally, wields economic influence, holds political sway, maintains strong alliances, and remains defensively robust.
