Chloe Kim confirms she’s ready for Winter Olympics despite shoulder injury, aiming for historic third consecutive Olympic halfpipe gold.
US snowboarding star Chloe Kim – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Snowboarding star Chloe Kim announced on Tuesday that she is ready to compete at next month’s Winter Olympics in Italy, despite a recent shoulder injury during training.
The 25-year-old, aiming for a third consecutive Olympic halfpipe gold after victories in 2018 and 2022, shared on Instagram that she is “good to go” for the Milan-Cortina Games. Kim revealed she tore her labrum in a fall while training in Switzerland.

Although she won’t be able to train before the Olympics, the injury is minor enough for her to participate.
“There are two different ways to do it, and the way I did it is less severe than the other, so I’m really happy about that,” Kim said. “Obviously, I’m really disappointed that I can’t snowboard until right before the Olympics, which is going to be hard.
“I haven’t gotten nearly the number of reps that I would have liked, but that’s OK. It’s funny I’ve been doing this for so long, and every season I’ve met different challenges.
“But again, I’m so grateful that I will be good to go for the Olympics.”

Kim, who has also won three World Championship halfpipe gold medals, is one of the highest profile winter sports athletes in the United States, becoming the youngest woman to win an Olympic gold in the halfpipe at the 2018 games in Pyeongchang when she was 17.
The Milan-Cortina Olympics take place from February 6-22.
