US-Iran broader talks expected in Islamabad this weekend: IAEA chief
Islamabad may host key US-Iran talks as tensions stay high
IAEA – (Web Desk) – The United States and Iran may hold wider talks in Islamabad this weekend. Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, shared this update on Wednesday. He said the talks could cover more than just nuclear issues. Missiles, regional militias, and Iran’s security concerns may also be discussed.
Grossi said both sides may look for a temporary solution. He stressed that war is not the answer and diplomacy must continue. He added that a pause in uranium enrichment could be considered, with a review after some years.
These efforts come as the recent conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran continues to affect the Middle East. Pakistan is playing an active role behind the scenes. It is helping both sides stay connected and avoid further tension.
Pakistan’s leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has offered to host the talks. US President Donald Trump also showed support for this move. Reports say Pakistan has already shared a US proposal with Iran.

However, Iran has rejected the latest offer. Officials said they will end the conflict on their own terms. They also shared key demands, including stopping attacks, fair compensation, and global recognition of their control over the Strait of Hormuz.
