ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad has canceled all visa appointments scheduled from March 9 to March 13, citing precautionary measures amid the evolving regional security situation.
According to an embassy statement, both immigrant and non-immigrant visa appointments are suspended, and affected applicants will receive new appointment schedules via email.

The embassy confirmed that regular and emergency consular services for U.S. citizens will continue, but consular services at the U.S. Consulates in Karachi and Lahore are temporarily halted until further notice.
The suspension follows heightened regional tensions after the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, which triggered widespread protests and demonstrations across Pakistani cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Hyderabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Sukkur, Kohat, and Nawabshah.
Previously, visa services at the U.S. Consulate in Karachi had been canceled for a day due to a security incident. The ongoing regional instability prompted the embassy in Islamabad to extend the suspension of appointments until March 13.
