UNIDO-NRSP Distributes Cheques of First PAIDAR Grant Cycle in Sujawal
The first PAIDAR grants were distributed to beneficiaries in Sujawal.
Pakistan—(Special Correspondent / Web Desk) -The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Pakistan distributed grant cheques to the winners of the 1st Cohort of the Poverty Alleviation and Inclusive Development across Rural Sindh (PAIDAR) program in the district of Sujawal on September 10, 2025.
PAIDAR is an EU-funded program that is being implemented by UNIDO in collaboration with NRSP. NRSP hosted this event.
NRSP is implementing the micro-grants component of the PAIDAR project in Sujawal district. The micro-grants are awarded to individual entrepreneurs as well as lawfully registered business corporations/partnerships of firms for both new businesses and expanding the running businesses, the businesses qualified for the grant, and hence the checks given to the first batch out of 68 successful micro-grantees in Sujawal.
Dignitaries from UNIDO Pakistan, the district government, and NRSP Sindh participated in the event. Ghulam Mustafa Haider Jamro, Regional General Manager of NRSP Sindh, welcomed the guests and winners. From UNIDO, Badar-ul-Islam, National Programme Coordinator, provided an overview of the PAIDAR in the Sujawal context.
Nazar Joyo, team lead and PAIDAR NRSP lead of NRSP, updated the guests and participants on NRSP and PAIDAR progress. The dignitaries and guests emphasized the need to comprehend that the grants awarded are meant to have created jobs, empowered women, and brought livelihood opportunities to the region with affordable products or services.
