UN should play role in shielding human rights in Kashmir: President Arif Alvi

Islamabad: (Staff Reporter) President Arif Alvi says the United Nations should play a role in shielding human rights in the occupied Kashmir. In his message on the World Human Rights Day, the president says this day commemorates the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the United Nations.

According to the source, the United Nations should play a role in protecting the fundamental rights of Kashmiris. He says human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir should not be forgotten as the Constitution of Pakistan reflects these values. Every Pakistani should be encouraged not to forget his duties and never compromise on the basic principles, he emphasizes.

Furthermore Mr. Alvi further states, “It should be noted that the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 74 years ago.”
