Ukraine on High Alert Again After Russian Bombardment
On Tuesday, Ukrainian authorities issued air raid warnings across much of the country after Kyiv’s air force reported the departure of Russian bombers from western Russia.
The Ukrainian air force announced on Telegram that several Tu-95MS bombers had taken off from the Engels airfield, estimating that missiles might enter Ukrainian airspace around 4:00 am (0100 GMT).
Meanwhile, Rafael Grossi, the head of the UN nuclear watchdog, is scheduled to visit Russia’s Kursk nuclear plant on Tuesday to “independently assess” the situation following Ukraine’s unprecedented cross-border offensive into the Russian region.

On Monday, US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict following Modi’s recent visit to Ukraine.
In another development, Poland reported that a drone likely entered its airspace early Monday morning during a Russian bombardment of Ukraine. The drone may have landed on Polish territory, and search operations are underway.
The United States expressed outrage on Monday over Russia’s assault on Ukraine’s power grid and pledged continued support for Kyiv.
In response to Moscow’s large-scale strike on Ukraine on Monday, Kyiv called on its allies to permit long-range strikes to “accelerate the end of Russian terror.”
