UK introduces new e-visa system for travelers from Pakistan
UK launches digital e-visa for Pakistani travelers, making visa applications easier, faster, secure, and eliminating the need for stickers.
United Kingdom – (Web Desk) – The United Kingdom has rolled out a new e-visa system for Pakistani travelers, removing the need for traditional visa stickers in passports. Visa verification will now be handled digitally through email.
British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, shared the news on her official X account on Wednesday. Under this new system, Pakistani visitors can submit their UK visa applications online and only need to visit a visa application center for biometric verification. There is no longer a need to return to collect passports.
Successful applicants will receive a digital visa record accessible via their UK Visas and Immigration account. Jane Marriott highlighted that these changes aim to make immigration processes more secure, convenient, and reduce the risk of lost or damaged documents.
According to the High Commissioner, applicants will also receive a “share code” to prove their visa status, which can be used at border checkpoints and other official locations.
From today, visitors to the UK will get eVisas AND you get to keep your passport while you wait! Simply create your @UKVIgovuk account, apply as normal, and we’ll email it to you. Happy travels! pic.twitter.com/M45hOqr3c8

Jane Marriott welcomed the change, stating that travel to the UK has now become easier than ever for Pakistanis. She said the new system will save time and is designed to be simple and secure.
The digital visa system was successfully introduced last year for student and work visa applicants. With this upgrade, applicants will not need to return to the visa centre to collect their passports after approval.
The British government has also advised applicants not to use visa agents and to submit their applications directly through the official gov.uk website.
