Delivery Driver Receives Prison Term for Assaulting Customer
MANCHESTER: (Web Desk) – A 25-year-old delivery driver, Rana Jahangir, has been sentenced to two years and four months in prison after sexually assaulting a woman at her doorstep following a food delivery. The incident occurred when Jahangir forcibly hugged and kissed the woman for over a minute despite her repeated pleas to stop.
Initially, the victim reported the incident only to the delivery company and did not contact the police. After discussing the matter with friends, she approached law enforcement. Jahangir was arrested and claimed the encounter was consensual. However, CCTV footage from the woman’s door captured the assault.
UK Says Forces Defensive Only Amid Iran Conflict
Chester Crown Court found Jahangir guilty of sexual assault. He has also been placed on the UK sex offenders register for 10 years and is prohibited from contacting the victim.
Authorities urge individuals to take precautions, such as keeping a safe distance from strangers at the door, using chain locks or security grills when receiving deliveries, and reporting harassment or assault immediately to prevent escalation.
