UAE Simplifies Online Visa Validity Checks for Residents

UAE Residents and Tourists Can Check Visa Status Online

ABU DHABI: (Web Desk) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has streamlined the process for residents and visitors to verify their visa validity online, enabling individuals to check their status within seconds and avoid overstays or penalties.

According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), a 30-day grace period has been introduced for individuals affected by exceptional regional circumstances. The initiative allows eligible people to either regularize their residency status or leave the country without incurring fines. The grace period will remain in effect until July 9, 2026.

Authorities said the relief measure also covers individuals who were previously unable to depart the UAE due to regional disruptions. Visa holders, including residents and tourists, have been advised to regularly monitor their visa status through official online portals to ensure compliance with immigration regulations.

For visas issued in Dubai, applicants can verify their status through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) portal by entering details such as their application number, file number, nationality, and date of birth.

Meanwhile, visa holders in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah can access the ICP online services platform to check their visa validity. The system provides complete information, including visa status, issue date, expiry date, file number, and unified ID number.

Officials have urged all visa holders to conduct regular checks to avoid legal complications and ensure uninterrupted compliance with UAE residency and visit visa requirements.
