UAE identifies three Pakistani nationals killed during Iranian attacks

UAE mourns victims and continues defence after Iranian missile and drone attacks

UAE  – (Web Desk) – The UAE authorities have released the names of people who lost their lives in recent Iranian missile and drone attacks. Among them are three Pakistani citizens. Officials said the country continues defensive operations against incoming threats.

On March 17, UAE air defence systems intercepted 10 ballistic missiles and 45 drones launched from Iran. Since the start of the escalation, UAE defences have engaged 314 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,672 drones.

Two members of the UAE armed forces were killed while performing national duty. Six expatriates also died in the attacks. The victims include:

  • Murib Zaman Nizar, Pakistan

  • Muzaffar Ali Ghulam, Pakistan

  • Ismail Salim Khan, Pakistan

  • Alaa Nader Awni, Palestine

  • Ahmed Ali, Bangladesh

  • Dibas Shrestha, Nepal

Officials said these deaths were the result of deliberate attacks targeting the UAE.

Earlier, on March 10, a military funeral was held at Zayed Military Hospital for two officers who died in a helicopter crash caused by a technical failure while on duty. The officers were:

  • Captain Pilot Saeed Rashid Hamad Al Balushi

  • First Lieutenant Ali Saleh Ismail Al Tunaiji

Senior commanders, officers, and family members attended the ceremony. The Ministry of Defense offered its deepest condolences and prayed for mercy for the martyrs and patience for their families.

In total, 157 people were injured, with injuries ranging from minor to serious. The injured come from many countries, including the UAE, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Egypt, India, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Iran, and more. Medical teams continue to treat the wounded.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, expressed condolences to the families. He also sent sympathy to the governments and people of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Palestine. The minister wished a speedy and full recovery to everyone injured in the attacks.
