Islamabad (News Desk) – The United States and Pakistan held the latest round of their Counterterrorism Dialogue in Islamabad, reaffirming a strong, shared commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms. The dialogue was co-chaired by Pakistan’s Special Secretary for the United Nations, Nabeel Munir, and U.S. Acting Coordinator for Counterterrorism, Gregory D. LoGerfo.
During the talks, both delegations emphasized the need for effective strategies to address evolving terrorist threats, including those posed by Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), ISIS-Khorasan, and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The United States commended Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to contain terrorist groups that endanger both regional and global peace.
The U.S. also extended condolences for recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan, including the deadly Jaffar Express bombing and the tragic school bus attack in Khuzdar, acknowledging the sacrifices of civilians and law enforcement personnel.

Strengthening institutional frameworks to combat terrorism
Enhancing national capacities to counter the use of emerging technologies by terrorist networks
Reinforcing cooperation in multilateral platforms such as the United Nations
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued close collaboration, recognizing that sustained and structured engagement is essential for effectively countering terrorism and ensuring long-term regional and global security.
The joint statement reflects the enduring partnership between the two countries and their mutual interest in promoting peace, stability, and counterterrorism cooperation.
