Islamabad – The U.S. Embassy in Pakistan has issued a threat alert following a purported video containing threats against the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad. The video, allegedly linked to militants from the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has prompted heightened security concerns in the region.
The Regional Security Office of the U.S. Embassy has implemented a travel ban for U.S. personnel in the Faisal Mosque area until further notice. In light of the threat, the embassy has issued several precautionary measures for U.S. citizens:
- Avoid the area surrounding Faisal Mosque.
- Exercise extreme caution and avoid large gatherings or protests.
- Review your personal security plan.
- Stay updated by monitoring local media.
- Keep a low profile and stay aware of your surroundings.
- Carry identification documents with you at all times.
- Fully cooperate with authorities.
