Two terrorists gunned down in D.I. Khan IBO: ISPR

Security forces killed two terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa district Dera Ismail Khan, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.
ISPR: Two terrorists gunned down in D.I. Khan IBO: ISPR. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an IBO in Dera Ismail Khan District on the reported presence of terrorists.
It added that during the conduct of the operation, an intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists, and resultantly two terrorists; Terrorist Faheem Nawaz Gandapuri and Terrorist Mohsin Nawaz, were successfully neutralised and sent to hell.
“Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the Security Forces as well as innocent civilians including target killings and extortion,” the ISPR added.

The military’s media wing also added that a “Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as Security Forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.”

Dera Ismail Khan abbreviated as D.I. Khan, is a city and capital of Dera Ismail Khan District, located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is the 37th largest city of Pakistan and fifth largest in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by population. Dera Ismail Khan is situated on the west bank of the Indus River, at its junction with the Gomal River.
It is 300 kilometres (190 mi) south of the provincial capital Peshawar, and 230 kilometres (140 mi) northwest of Multan, Punjab.
In the local language, the word ḍerā means “tent, encampment”, and is commonly found in the name of towns in the Indus Valley such as Dera Ghazi Khan and Dera Bugti. It is named after Dodai mercenary Ismail Khan, son of Malik Sohrab Dodai, who founded the town. “Dera Ismail Khan” thus means “Camp of Ismail Khan.”
