Trump Threatens Legal Action Against Google Over Alleged Bias
Claims Company Displays Only Negative Stories About Him While Favoring Harris

Former U.S. President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the upcoming presidential election, announced on Friday that he intends to pursue legal action against Google if he wins the election on November 5. He accused the tech giant of showcasing only negative stories about him while favoring positive coverage of his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump provided no evidence to support his claims against Google. He stated, “It has been determined that Google has illegally used a system of only revealing and displaying bad stories about Donald J. Trump, some made up for this purpose, while simultaneously only revealing good stories about Kamala Harris.” He labeled this behavior as “illegal” and expressed hope that the Justice Department would prosecute Google for what he termed blatant election interference. Trump added that if the Department does not take action, he would request prosecution at the highest level once he assumes the presidency.
Google has yet to respond to requests for comment regarding Trump’s allegations.
This isn’t the first time Trump has made such claims; in 2019, he similarly accused Google of bias, alleging that the company favored negative news about him during the 2016 election. At that time, Google denied the accusations. Recently, some of Trump’s supporters have reignited these allegations. Notably, after an assassination attempt on Trump in July, billionaire Elon Musk claimed on X (formerly Twitter) that Google had imposed a search ban on the former president.
